it's getting cold out!

billy and i decided to take pics today in washington square park because it'd been way too long!

i've gotten a lot of new clothes but it was wayyyy too cold to change or even take my coat off!
but this coat is one of my new items, and i love it. i love that it's almost a peacoat but with a twist. and one of the lapels buttons at the top inside the other one to keep your neck warm. it's super warm anyway, and perfect for manhattan, which i guess is why it's called the manhattan winter coat. this is where i got it: http://urban1972.com/Manhattan-Winter-Coat.html

neck snuggle!

two things that make me nervous are 1. shopping online, and 2. scarves (which i think i talked about earlier haha)
but while checking out urban1972.com i found this circle scarf! since it's a scarf, it obviously will fit well (my problem with online shopping), and since it's circle, i don't have to worry about styling it. it looks really great with a coat i got from the site too, which i will post later! i've been so busy and haven't had any daylight hours to take pics!!

new food adventure

so, i've seen a million pictures online of macarons and i decided it was time for me to try one. so on my way home one day i passed this cute bakery on laguardia and stopped in and found macarons. they were huge though, like 3 or 4 inches in diameter for sure. the pistachio was okay. i like the texture. i want to go back and try the raspberry.
and i got a red velvet cupcake just cuz it looked good. weird that it had a cherry though… it was really good though.

…i also may have stopped at mcdonalds and redeemed my free monopoly game medium fries and got a mcflurry. so overall, it was a delicious three-dessert meal.

trying out scarves…

it's getting cold but i don't wanna cramp my style with winter coats yet. so i decided i should try out a scarf.
i found this one in the coat closet at home in wisconsin and took it with me. i really like the design on it. no idea where it came from.

my halloween costume

this halloween wasn't too eventful. it was cold so i didn't want to wear this costume outside at night so my other costume was just throwing a pilot hat on with my normal clothes. lazy.

fashion week ended :(


these window stickers are everywhere. i love the simple look/font.

although i didn't get to go to any shows, i hit up some parties and met some fun people. maybe by next year i'll have some way to get seats at shows :)

on another note, for some reason i'm really looking forward to the movie the social network. if you haven't seen the trailer, watch it here. i think it's one of the best made trailers in a long time. the beginning with the screenshots of facebook doesn't do much for me, but the footage and everything after that is amazing. i never even go see movies, but i'm totally gonna see this one when it comes out. maybe it's just the fascination i have with the internet and all that it's done. and the fact that i hate facebook now with a burning passion. i loved it when it started out, but now it's just ridiculous. and the movie looks dramatic and the actor reminds me of michael cera and harvard looks cool. i wonder if it's actually like that… its supposed to be 2003 in the movie, so do you really think that in 2003 (or now) that's what harvard is like? guys sitting around in their cool jackets smoking cigars in the library? hmmm.

british vogue

yesterday i was running about 5/10 minutes late for class, and as i left my apartment i saw the campus bus and almost took it, but decided to walk. luckily i didn't take the bus, because when i was walking up the street, a woman stopped me and asked if she could take my picture for british vogue street style! so she took a couple of pics and a little interview (recording video with her 5D which made me want one even more). but they should be up on the site sometime soon, which i will post a link to, and shes gonna email me the pic later :)
and somehow i didn't end up late for class…

west village

today billy and i explored the west village a little bit. we mainly went to check out the marc jacobs store, but then stumbled upon magnolia bakery. i was under the impression the cupcakes were $1.75. but apparently the red velvet was $3.25… i could have bought a dumpling with that extra $1.50 i was not planning on spending! guess i will starve.

all settled in

i've pretty much got everything organized in my apartment now.
i found a whole foods close to my house and did some shopping today.
classes don't start until tuesday, so i've got almost a week to do whatever i want.
i'm meeting up tonight with a friend that i met in milwaukee last summer while working for 4pm magazine.

i'm trying to plan a day to go to jersey next week so my tan won't fade!!!!!
until then, i will slowly become more pale…

billy and i went shopping today and i found this beauty of a shirt on sale at banana republic.

and billy got this sweater for 10 dollars. i'm making him let me borrow it.

moved out.

we said goodbyes last night over chips and salsa after listening to varsity about twelve times in a row and letting it sink in that we were leaving. at 745am i climbed bascom hill and sat down to take my last exam of my freshman year and possibly my last final at madison. it was the first sunny day in a week. we packed the van and went to the farmers market then drove away, leaving madison after the fastest four months of my life.
