saturday - kansas day 1

on alex: h&m dress, urban outfitters sandals, vintage ferragamo purse. on me: h&m dress, grandma's clutch

alex and i finally got to kansas for my sisters graduation after the worst day of traveling we've ever experienced. we almost missed our flight on friday morning, but then luckily found out it was delayed, and then delayed again, and again. so we decided to sleep at the gate. when we woke up over two hours later, everything was gone and it turned out our flight was cancelled because the plane was broken. we got put on another flight way later that night and got taxi vouchers to go back into the city for the day. so we went home and slept and got subway and pinkberry, before heading back to the airport.

tomorrow is the graduation ceremony & party, then we're driving to wisconsin on monday. then comes our road trip! :)

thursday - saturdays surf & 20 page essays

i stopped into saturdays surf nyc the other day to visit my friend who works there. they've got a very cool japan relief shirt right now that i almost got, but decided on a tank top instead. anyway, in front there's a simple little coffee shop, then further back is the surf/apparel shop, and in back is a really cool garden area to hang out in! which is where i took this photo. the whole place was really picture-perfect and i bet would be amazing at night too. i'd never been there before, even though i live really close to it.

anyway, i was going to save this photo for another post, but i am in the middle of writing a 20 page essay about my internship, so i needed a break.

i've got two final projects due today & a final party. i'm more than ready to get this school year over with and start the summer! in a week i fly out to kansas to go to my sister's graduation, and then i'm road tripping through the midwest for a week or so. i can't complain about new york, but i can't wait to take photos somewhere outside of the city :)

introducing alex

big news! alex is going to be a new facet to this blog :)
she goes to school here with me at nyu and is a music theatre major.
she's originally from chicago, and she has amazing clothes.

this fall while i'm updating from paris, she'll hopefully be updating from new york. she just needs a camera first. i just bought the canon s95 as a point & shoot camera since it's not always easy to bring my 7D around with me. i like it so far! any suggestions for other good point and shoots? (we decided s95 over g12 for sleekness)

anyway, my last day of school is on thursday and i have to write a 15 to 20 page paper about my internship! so i might be MIA for a few days.

finished up classes on friday! so saturday we went out to eat at extra virgin in the west village and it was great. i've got a few more projects to finish up for next week until i'm free for the summer!

tuesday - a few photos & met gala

i'd been wanting to take a pic like the top one for a while, so alex and i finally did! it was really hard to not get hit by all the cars. we chose a bad time to take photos probably.
and yesterday was the met gala! beforehand, i did a shoot with pharrell at the mondrian hotel of him getting ready for the met. check out more pics here. the met was beyond beautiful. i've never been there before (oops) and it was so amazing for this to be the first time. florence & the machine performed and it was wonderful. i wore alex's 3.1 phillip lim dress, but somehow didn't end up with any photos of me in it.
i plan on going back to the met to see the mcqueen exhibit soon though :)
