yesterday we had a little group scavenger hunt around campus in the 16e and so we explored around a bit. after class alanna and i went to the metro and she made it on and then the doors closed and i was left standing there on the platform and it was sad. but then i went to a boulangerie on the way home and picked up a baguette for the ripe price of 90 cents and got some cheese and prosciutto on my way home too, so i can make sandwiches in the morning to bring with me to school. class started today, just the 2 week intensive french course. then the real courses start, which seem like they're going to be fun.

samedi

yesterday after my french placement test, which went better than expected, there was a walking tour of the city for our nyu group. at first we were considering skipping it, but we ended up going and it was a lot of fun. we took a ton of pics and we learned a bunch of random facts about the city. after that we got did a little shopping and then had dinner before going out and meeting up with a few of alanna's friends in the marais. her friends both drove mopeds and i got to go on my first moped ride which was the scariest but most fun thing ever.
classes start on tuesday i believe, and fashion's night out is thursday! can't wait!

made it to paris

i made it to paris! i almost made it without forgetting anything, but i forgot my leather jacket. luckily alex is coming to visit for her birthday in a few weeks! so she'll bring it then. somehow i fell asleep immediately on the plane (after the food) and just passed out until we were landing. it felt like a 30 minute flight rather than a 7 hour one.
yesterday i got all settled into the apartment. i'm living with jake and alanna, my friends from new york. we found a cute place in the 6th. i haven't explored too much yet but i know there's a boulangerie patisserie right across the street so i'm satisfied so far. actually today i walked from the champs elysees back to our apartment so i could explore a little and take a few pics. i also picked up the september issue of french vogue and it came with a really cool fashion's night out tee.

anyway, we're off to dinner! i'll post more pics as i take them!

gap pants

alex and i got to take some pics of these pants that i got from gap right after the hurricane hit a few days ago… luckily where we were didn't get hit badly at all, cuz we had no flashlights or candles or much food at all. i think we spent about an hour at the grocery store and ended up with just a superbowl-ish cheese platter and some carrots and some mac n cheese. not sure how that happened.
